Rahma Medical began with an unexpected connection between two physicians at different stages of their careers.
About six years ago, for the first time, Dr. Munir met Dr. Serag in an exam room when Dr. Serag became a physician for her family. During one of their first visits, each recognized something special in the other: Dr. Munir saw in Dr. Serag the physician she remembered being twenty years earlier, while Dr. Serag saw in Dr. Munir a role model she hoped to become.
That mutual recognition grew into a friendship and, ultimately, a shared vision for what a medical practice could be. Dr. Serag decided to team up with her role model, Dr. Munir, to co-found Rahma Medical—bringing together two generations of physicians around the same belief that exceptional medicine begins with trust, service, and a genuine relationship with the patient.

Randa Serag, M.D.
Board-Certified Internal Medicine
Dr. Randa Serag is a board-certified internal medicine physician who brings a rare blend of clinical excellence, empathy, and approachable humor to her practice. Born and raised in Pennsylvania, she traveled west to attend Stanford University, then back east for medical school. She graduated from the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in 2007, and completed her academic residency training at UCLA Medical Center, where she refined her commitment to thorough, evidence-based care.
Dr. Serag served as a Clinical Instructor at UCLA for 2 years before moving to Orange County, where she became a founding member of Hoag Medical Group. In her 13 years of service at Hoag, she developed the conviction that patients are her priority and that advocating for them was her passion and purpose.
Patients describe Dr. Serag as a transparent communicator and an exceptional listener — someone who takes the time to understand not just symptoms, but the person behind them. With a reputation for being both meticulous and personable, Dr. Serag has built a practice where patients can expect honest and clear explanations, comprehensive care plans, and the occasional well-timed joke to ease the moment.
Dr. Serag embodies the belief that every interaction should be built on empathy, trust, and a commitment to making every patient feel heard, respected, and fully supported in their health journey.
Dr. Serag remains an active member of the Medical Staff at Hoag Hospital.
Seema Munir, D.O.
Board-Certified Family & Obesity Medicine
Dr. Seema Munir is a board-certified family and obesity medicine physician with more than 45 years of experience in patient care. She earned her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine at Midwestern University and completed her residency in Family Practice at Rush-Presbyterian-St. Luke's Medical Center in Chicago. Her path to medicine began in mathematics, which she pursued at the graduate level at the University of Illinois Chicago. Her clinical focus spans obesity medicine, preventive care, and women's health.
Teaching has been central to her career alongside clinical practice. Dr. Munir has spent many years training and mentoring medical students and physicians, serving as Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Arizona and as adjunct faculty at Midwestern University. Colleagues and students describe her as a generous mentor, one who treats the education of the next generation with the same seriousness she brings to her own patients.
Her practice reflects the principles at the heart of Rahma Medical: decades of experience, a commitment to teaching, and the conviction that the relationship between physician and patient is built on trust and compassion.
